Keith Carby

Carby has had an extensive career in financial services, ultimately becoming managing director at Allied Dunbar Assurance.

Carby has had a long career in financial services, first joining Hambro Life in 1981, which later became Allied Dunbar Assurance, where he progressed to sales director and then managing director.

After this, he moved to be one of the three founders and managing director of J Rothschild Assurance (now St James’s Place) in 1991.

Industry veteran Carby co-founded the financial services forum in 1997 and served as chairperson and CEO of Inter-Alliance Group plc from 2002.

In 2005, he took on the role as non-executive director of the Tenet Group. Later that year, he co-founded Foster Denovo Group, serving as non-executive chairperson until 2017.

In 2007, he also became CEO of Openwork, where he founded Omnis Investments. Carby also became non-executive chairperson of mortgage intermediary Censeo Financial which remains the case to date.

In 2009, he went on to co-found Caerus Capital, which was purchased by Intrinsic (now part of Quilter plc) in 2017, where he served as CEO.

He was a founding non-executive director of Metro Bank plc between 2010 and 2019.

In 2018, Keith founded AdAlpha Solutions, which was purchased by AJ Bell plc in 2021 where he acted as chairperson.

In 2023 Keith was appointed non-executive director and chairperson of Harbour Rock Capital, a specialist pensions and investments business based in Rochester, Kent. He also co-founded The House Group, where he acts as non-executive director and chairperson, as well as mentor and advisor for the member agents.
