House has a Home
13 May 2025
We turn two years old this month! It feels like a milestone worth noting, given that – according to Experian, at any rate – over one-third of new businesses don’t actually make it this far…
But truth be told, as much as it has consumed us for these past 24 months, it also seems to have whistled past in a blur in no time at all.
When we launched the business back in May 2023, it was with a clear vision: to give estate agents the freedom to do agency on their own terms. No micromanagement. No drab, grey, ‘goldfish bowl’ offices. But, we did insist that, at the very least, our Members should have a shared ethos, and for these people we set out to provide structure, support and an epic local brand to get behind.
One thing we didn’t offer though was a premises – neither drab and grey, nor modern and funky. It was very much a ‘work from where you feel comfortable’ approach, not unlike other self-employed brokerage models.
Nevertheless, as time has passed, we felt more and more that something was missing…
Fast forward to May 2025, however, and House has just taken a big step. Or rather, we have just opened a nice big door…

Welcome to Market House: our new hub in Old Town, Swindon.
Yes – we felt the time was right to open a premises of our very own, and after months of searching for just the right place, we found it at Market House, in Old Town, Swindon.
It could be called an HQ, but to us it’s something a bit different.
It’s very definitely not a call centre. It’s also very definitely not a place where Members are expected to clock in.
It’s something better than that.
It’s a home, for House.
It is a place to touch base, meet face-to-face, share ideas, or just get a great coffee and chew the cud. Let’s call it ‘a professional pit stop’. It’s like a clubhouse, but for grown-ups – and these grown ups happen to be some of the very best estate agents in Wiltshire.
One of our Members, Fredy Saju, puts it this way:
“It’s really nice to have a home (no pun intended) – something we can use as a hub to keep in touch with all the team. What I really appreciate is that I can almost go in there at any given time and there’ll be someone in. I think, because we’re dotted around running individual businesses under the House Group banner, having somewhere common to share is good for all of us.”
A space that works (however you work!)
We’re still a remote-first, self-employed model business. That hasn’t changed.
But what we’ve built at Market House is a place our Members can lean on as and when they need it. It is somewhere they can drop in, dig deep, meet clients or just put the headphones in and focus.
Here’s what we’ve got!
- A fantastic boardroom-style meeting room
- A bright estate agent co-working hub with five desks to allow hotdesking
- A barista-style coffee machine (because whether it is property marketing or a cup of coffee, our standards are high!)
- Easy parking just across the road if required (free parking nearby or just £1.30 for two hours at The Planks)
- Great public transport links for those coming in from further afield
Built to Connect
For House Group Founder and Director Ross Sutton, the hub represents something more than simply a physical space.
“It’s a home for House. A place to collaborate, share ideas, best practice and coffee.”
It’s also proving useful in ways that are already being felt.
“I’m much more productive in a bustling environment,” says Ross. “We’re starting to see the benefits already – whether that’s quicker decisions, spontaneous brainstorming, or just the energy that comes from having smart people together in the same room, on a common mission, even though our members all work as individuals in their own self-employed practices.”
There will be a formal launch event once the finishing touches are in place, but for now, the space is already being used the way it was intended: professionally, sociably and flexibly.
The House Ethos, in Bricks and Mortar
Everything we do at House is about enabling the individual agent: giving Members the tools, the backing, and the platform they need to thrive. We’ve always believed that the best agency work comes from people who are trusted to work the way that suits them best.
Now, we are giving our Members the space to match that belief.
Use it once a week. Use it once a month. Or don’t use it at all! The choice is theirs… but so far, as Fredy Saju pointed out, there’s rarely a time that someone isn’t here, beavering away on making their clients’ dreams of moving home become reality.
It’s here, and it’s home.
Happy 2nd Birthday to us… the Terrible Two’s! Bring it on…
